Listing your Texas home on the MLS has traditionally carried a 3% commission on the listing side alone. On a $330,000 home (the Texas median), that’s $9,900 — paid to access a shared database that any licensed broker can submit to.
That database is called the MLS. It feeds Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin, and Trulia automatically. Once your home is on it, buyers and buyer’s agents everywhere can find it. It is the most important step in selling your home.
